A Beginner's Loom Workshop

Discover the art of weaving in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop designed to introduce participants to loom weaving in a relaxed, supportive environment. This weaving experience blends technique with creativity, offering a thoughtful introduction to loom weaving in a welcoming, small-group setting. It’s perfect for craft-curious beginners and those looking to try something new with their hands. This workshop is offered by weaver Rebecca Zastany Wilson and hosted at Fiber Fever.

Date: Wednesday, September 30, 6-8 pm, in person at Fiber Fever (2224 S. Kinnickinnic Ave)

Cost: $65 per student, maximum 7 students

Workshop fees include loom preparation, all necessary yarn, and finishing materials.

Tools and Supplies Included:

• Each participant will be provided with a pre-threaded loom for use during the workshop, allowing for more time focused on weaving technique and creative expression.

What you need to know: No baseline knowledge needed  

Age requirement: This workshop is for ages 16 and older.

What you’ll learn: The workshop begins with an introduction to the basic parts of a loom and a simple explanation of how patterning works. Participants will start with plain weave, offering plenty of time and space to practice, make mistakes, and get comfortable with the process. Once everyone is confident, we’ll transition to creating a final project: either a patterned tapestry/wall hanging or a mini runner/mat, depending on individual preference.

Cancellation Policy: 7 days prior to workshop date. Cancellations received after June 4, 2025 will not be eligible for a refund unless we able to find another learner to take your place. 

Bonus: On the night of the workshop, the shop will be open exclusively for class participants. You will also be eligible for 10% off all purchases made during this time.
